===== Jan 2022 UCSB COVID Protocols =====
See the UCSB Email for [https://t.e2ma.net/webview/ftggrf/f0886911cb138b340f9d784d1035be8a Jan 2022 Return to Campus] for full information. Useful links are pasted below.

We will be shutting down the lab for year end maintenance activities at 7am December 26th. The current plan is to open back up at 7am on January 3rd. We will update the schedule if needed.
* All students who will be on campus during Winter Quarter are required to obtain a campus COVID-19 test at the beginning of the quarter.

During the shutdown this year we will be pulling all cleanroom suits and stocking new suits.
* [https://t.e2ma.net/click/bmsprf/bafvpn/r6ygiy Testing is available] to the campus community without charge. Please pick up a UCSB COVID-19 test kit at Loma Pelona any weekday starting 1/3/2022 between 8:30 am and 4:45 pm. You will then use the kit to provide your saliva sample (at home or at some other convenient location for you) and return it to Loma Pelona at your appointment time, which must be within 24 hours of making the sample. Appointments can be made through the [https://t.e2ma.net/click/bmsprf/bafvpn/7yzgiy Student Health Patient Portal].

PLEASE REMOVE ALL PERSONAL ITEMS FROM THE GOWNING ROOM PRIOR TO DECEMBER 26TH
* Booster vaccines are required for all eligible staff, faculty, and students, as part of [https://t.e2ma.net/click/bmsprf/bafvpn/3j1giy UC’s SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine Program policy], in order to access UC facilities. Individuals with previously approved medical or religious exemptions are also exempt from booster requirements.

* Booster doses are widely available at pharmacies and medical clinics. Boosters will also be [https://t.e2ma.net/click/bmsprf/bafvpn/jc2giy available in Isla Vista from the Santa Barbara County Department of Public Health] at Embarcadero Hall January 10 - 28 on weekdays from 9 am - 5 pm, with appointments available through the [https://t.e2ma.net/click/bmsprf/bafvpn/z42giy MyTurn system].
Influenza vaccinations are also required, unless you attest that you have read the educational information and decline, AND agree to mask through the end of flu season.

=====New Gowns in Jan=====
* The campus mask mandate does not distinguish “shared” or “public” spaces from other locations. All indoor spaces on campus, including research spaces, are subject to the masking requirement, with the exception of individual residences in campus housing, dining halls while eating, or individual offices with one person with the door closed.
We are required to switch to new gowns in January. The new gowns won’t have pockets, but you are allowed to purchase cleanroom tool belts. Please ask staff for tool belts you can use.
Everyone is encouraged to wear a mask outdoors in crowded settings when on campus

When the vendor came in to install the new top heater he wasn't able to get the z-axis (elevator motor) to move. He was able to install the new heater and do a PM on the rest of the tool. We are ordering a new z-axis controller on the recommendation of the vendor. If all goes well this should solve the issue and make the bonder fully operational. I'll send out an email once the new controller has been installed.

===== UC system-wide Flu Vaccine mandate =====
The UC Office of the President has issued an executive order making influenza vaccinations mandatory for all UC students and employees. The order, effective throughout the 2021-22 flu season, requires that all students and faculty and staff members who live, learn or work on any UC campus or want to access any UC facilities attest that they have received a flu vaccination, or have chosen to decline a vaccination, no later than November 19. Declining the vaccination will require use of masks indoors throughout the flu season.

All facility users are covered under this mandate.

===== New COVID Protocols =====
All facility users and visitors are now required to have masks on while indoors in shared spaces. This includes shared offices, hallways/corridors, and all shared laboratory spaces. Masks will be worn in all laboratories at all times and in all shared office spaces at all times.

Surgical style masks or KN95 masks are appropriate for cleanroom use. Cloth masks may be used in non-cleanroom spaces.

This direction applies to all vaccinated and non-vaccinated persons. Outdoor policies remain unchanged.
